Hi! I’m Harrie. I’m From Christchurch and Nelson in New Zealand, have been living in Melbourne over 5 years now.
When I was 14, I told my mum I wanted to tattoo as I’ve always liked drawing, she said no. 🙁
So, I studied graphics design, but I found I wasn’t really good at it or very motivated to get another office job. Some of my friends had recently started tattooing and I slowly became obsessed with the idea. Drawing is life! I’ll draw no matter what job I have sooo might as well get paid for drawing on people, best idea yet Harrie. I’ve been an apprentice tattooer at The Wolves Den for 2 years now.
Drinking craft beer, drawing salty ladies, listening to chill tunes.
Sleeping and snuggling with the boyfie. Meowing and going drum and bass gigs with the crew.
I’m going for a mix of illustration and neo traditional.
Definitely colour! Maybe also some dot work, so say Sam Clark & Audrey Kawasaki and Lolle had an art baby.
I love neo trad, illustrative, bright bold coloured tattoo styles the best. Dot work / geometric and traditional are also very fun to design for. Some artists I am inspired by include – Kel Tait, Isnard Barbosa, Sam Clarke, Vitaly Morozov, Katie Shocrylas, Sergei Titukh, Teresa Sharpe, Kate Selkie, Lilian Raya. The list could go on forever. A few illustrators / painters I love – Audrey Kawasaki, Rudy Fig, Chiara Bausta, Loish, Gwen D’arcy, Audra Auclair, Max Roche. And sooo many more!
